The Department of Physics was established as a major department in 1966 for B.Sc. Physics as a grant-in-aid course affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. As one of the oldest departments in the Marathwada region, it possesses a strong lineage in science education. The B.Sc. Physics program features a well-equipped laboratory provided with all necessary equipment.
B.Sc. Electronics
The B.Sc. Electronics course was established in 1981 as a grant-in-aid course affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. A separate laboratory is available with complete facilities. The electronics specialization is designed to allow students to not only prepare for theory and experiments but also to cultivate an interest in research. It equips them to pursue careers in the industry by exposing them to microcontrollers and PLC-embedded technologies. The laboratory is constantly updated to keep students competitive in developing related skills through innovative projects.
M.Sc. Physics
The department was upgraded to offer M.Sc. Physics with an Electronics specialization in 1971 as a grant-in-aid course affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. This is the only grant-in-aid department outside the university campus. Two separate laboratories are available with all necessary equipment. This course offers a specialization in electronics with Microwave as one of the major subjects.
M.Sc. (Industrial Automation)
The M.Sc. (Industrial Automation) course was established in 2010. The UGC provided a grant of 75 Lakhs for five years for this course as an innovative program. This course was designed specifically to fulfill the needs of the automation industry.
B.Voc. (Industrial Automation)
The B.Voc. (Industrial Automation) course was established in 2019. To bridge the gap between M.Sc. (Industrial Automation) and XII pass students, the UGC sanctioned this course with a grant of 1.04 Cr for three years.
