The Jalna Education Society’s R.G.Bagdia Arts, S.B. Lakhotia Commerce and R. Bezonji Science College, Jalna, established in the year 1958 is located in a beautiful and sprawling campus of 15 Acres. It is a non-government Grant-in-aid college, popularly known as a JES College, affiliate to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Since its establishment, the institution has been working to provide quality higher education with an aim to develop and build up enlightened and responsible citizenship amongst the students.
The college offers Under Graduate course in Arts, Science, Commerce and Post Graduate course in Physics, Chemistry & Commerce. The college is offering career-oriented course like B.Sc. in Electronics, Computer Science, and Microbiology & B.C.A. The college has established linkages with Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) and National Center for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR), etc. A center of the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik is functioning in the College campus.
The extension activities of the College are in the field of adult education and literacy, AIDS awareness, environmental awareness, blood donation camp and popularization of science. The College is running a District Extension Service Center since 1985 funded by Government of Maharashtra to impart training to in-service secondary school teachers in various subjects. A Gandhian Study Center founded by UGC is running.
The college has build up adequate infrastructure and developed learning resources over the past 52 years. The college library has 80,000 books. It subscribed to 66no. of journals and periodicals. It offers book bank facility with 5663 books for benefit of the needy students. The departments maintain departmental library. The College has a two-storied hostel for boys. Separate hostel for girls, Sports facilities for both outdoor and indoor games, multi-gym. The College campus is green, beautiful, clean and well maintained. The college has succeeded to a considerable extent in translating its mission and goals into academic practices. It has stood for providing higher education to students of the region. It is accredited by NAAC with B+ in the year 2003.
